Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, factual answers regarding our booking terms, deposit structures, promotional prepayment policies, privacy practices, and essential Central Asia travel tips.
How do I book a tour with Turon Holidays?
To book your trip, select your preferred start and end dates and complete our online booking form, or email your tour details directly to sales@turonholidays.com to receive a quote promptly. Once availability is confirmed, an invoice will be issued for your deposit payment, and a Booking Confirmation will be sent via email.
What are the deposit payment terms and deadlines?
A deposit of 30% of the total tour cost must be paid at least four months before the tour start date. The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than two months before the tour start date. Strict adherence to payment deadlines is required, and we reserve the right to cancel bookings if payments are not received by the due date.
Are tour deposits and booking fees refundable?
Deposit payments are non-refundable. Additionally, a non-refundable 5% booking processing fee applies to each booking.
What happens if I book a tour within two months of departure?
Bookings made within two months of the tour start date require full payment at the time of confirmation.
How does the Promotional Tour Prepayment Policy work?
Turon Holidays is committed to developing sustainable tourism across Central Asia. As part of this, selected promotional tours may be offered with zero prepayment requirements. Eligibility for zero-prepayment bookings is determined on a case-by-case basis and applies exclusively to designated promotional tours, subject to availability and booking conditions.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
For tour cancellations by either the supplier or the customer, notice must be given at least 30 days prior to the departure date to incur zero penalty charges. If Turon Holidays provides international or domestic air tickets, cancellation requests must also be submitted at least 30 days prior to departure to prevent substantial penalty charges imposed by suppliers.
What happens if Turon Holidays has to cancel a trip?
If we are forced to cancel a trip start date (due to weather, safety conditions, etc.), a revised trip date will be offered. If a different start date is not possible for you, we will offer a full refund minus any unrecoverable costs. Please note we are not responsible for incidental expenses such as visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess, or non-refundable flights.
What legal entity operates Turon Holidays?
All bookings are made with Turon Holidays LLC (registration number 308466158). References to Turon Holidays include our employees, agents, contractors, and suppliers who benefit from our terms and conditions.
What types of personal information do you collect?
We collect personal information when you provide it directly (such as when making a booking), automatically (through cookies placed on your browser with your consent), or from third parties (including affiliated companies within Turon Holidays and business partners to improve our platform, prevent fraud, and maintain accurate records).
How is my personal information shared?
Your personal information may be shared to help process your travel bookings, assist with your stay, communicate product or service details, enable communication with travel providers, and comply with applicable laws.
What are my data protection rights and choices?
You can exercise your data protection rights at any time, such as opting out of marketing emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link or contacting our customer service. You can also contact us with questions regarding how your personal information is handled.
What is the best time of year to visit Central Asia?
The ideal travel seasons are spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November). During these months, temperatures across the historic Silk Road cities (such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent) are pleasantly warm and optimal for sightseeing and outdoor exploration.
What currency should I bring, and are credit cards widely accepted?
US Dollars (unblemished, clean bills issued after 2013) are widely preferred for currency exchange across Central Asia. While major hotels and upscale establishments accept international credit cards, cash is necessary for local bazaars, artisan workshops, and smaller cafes.
Do I need visas to visit Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan?
Visa policies depend entirely on your passport and nationality. Many international visitors enjoy visa-free entry or simple e-visa options for Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. We advise checking specific passport requirements prior to booking your trip.
What kind of clothing and dress code is appropriate?
Casual, comfortable clothing is suitable for most sightseeing. When visiting active religious sites, mosques, and mausoleums, modest dress is recommended (shoulders and knees covered for both men and women, and a light scarf for women entering sacred spaces).
Is tap water safe to drink in Central Asia?
Tap water is generally not recommended for drinking. We strongly advise drinking bottled or filtered water, which is readily available everywhere throughout your tour route.
How physically demanding are the regional tour itineraries?
Our itineraries are designed for standard fitness levels, featuring moderate walking during historical walking tours and outdoor excursions. Long-distance travel between major cities is handled comfortably via high-speed trains (like the Afrosiyob) and air-conditioned vehicles.
Is mobile data and Wi-Fi readily available during travel?
Hotels offer complimentary Wi-Fi for guests. For uninterrupted connectivity on the go, we recommend setting up an international tourist eSIM (such as Airalo) or picking up local tourist SIM packages upon arrival at the airport.
Should I purchase comprehensive travel insurance?
Yes, all travelers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive international travel insurance covering emergency medical care, trip cancellation, and repatriation before embarking on their Central Asian expedition.
