Arrival in Almaty
Arrival in Almaty, Kazakhstan's cultural capital. Meet your guide and driver at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit Green Bazaar, Panfilov Park, Ascension Cathedral, Museum of Musical Instruments, and Republic Square.
Nomad Ethno Centre & Kok-Tobe Hill
Travel to Nomad Ethno Centre for warrior demonstrations (horseback riding, archery, sword fighting, eagle hunting) and traditional yurt lunch. Ascend Kok-Tobe Hill by cable car.
Almaty → Turkestan Flight
Transfer to airport for domestic flight to Turkestan, a key spiritual center of the Turkic world. Evening exploration of the modern Silk Road-inspired Karavansaray Complex.
Turkestan Heritage Tour
Visit the UNESCO-listed Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a masterpiece of Timurid architecture, and the underground Hilvet Mosque.
Turkestan → Otrar → Arystan Bab → Shymkent
Drive towards Shymkent. En route, visit the medieval Silk Road city of Otrar, Mausoleum of Arystan Bab, and Altyn Orda Art Gallery in Shymkent.
Shymkent → Almaty
Visit ancient Sairam, Ethnographic Museum, and Shymkent Citadel. In the evening, transfer to airport and fly back to Almaty.
Charyn Canyon → Saty Village
Depart for Charyn National Park to explore the dramatic Valley of Castles. Continue to Saty Village for authentic local village hospitality and homemade dinner.
Kaindy Lake & Kolsai Lakes → Almaty
Morning visit to Kaindy Lake to see its submerged spruce forest. Continue to Kolsai Lakes National Park ("Pearls of the Northern Tian Shan") before returning to Almaty.
